KCPR presents: Summer Salt’s Halloween show at SLO Brew Rock
“We have been meaning to play in SLO for a while, but this is our first time playing here,” Summer Salt’s lead singer, Matthew Terry, said.
After over a year of concerts were halted due to COVID-19, Texas-based band Summer Salt finally got their wish to play in San Luis Obispo. The group performed on Halloween night at SLO Brew Rock with their opening acts, Covey and Breakup Shoes.
“We could not ask for a better night; [the crowd] was amazing,” Terry said.
Tom Freeman, the lead singer of Covey, begins the night by playing the band’s songs such as “Invader Zim” and “Sam Jam”.
In the spirit of Halloween, the second opening band, Breakup Shoes, dressed up as the characters Morty from “Rick and Morty” and Woody from “Toy Story.”
Summer Salt took the stage and kicked things off with their hit “Sweet to Me.”
Due to the show’s festive occasion, Summer Salt front man Matthew Terry dressed as the character Mojo Jojo while the rest of the band dressed as The Powerpuff Girls.
Guitarist Anthony Barnett (left) and drummer Eugene Chung (right) play to a full house while dressed as “The Powerpuff Girls” characters Blossom and Bubbles.
