The Shabang is Back
This Saturday, October 1, the seventh embodiment of the increasingly legal Central Coast music festival called The Shabang will be held at Laguna Lake Park in San Luis Obispo. Building upon its past successes, there will be live local music, food trucks, art, games and friends, with events commencing at 3 p.m. and concluding at 9 p.m. Live music will run for the entire festival, with LOLIPOP Records sweethearts/Santa Barbara superstars Dante Elephante bestowing upon the Shabangers the final set at 8 p.m.
The Shabang will cost $5 per entry. All profits will be donated to the El Camino Homeless Organization, which distributes food and hygiene supplies to mitigate homelessness in San Luis Obispo County. Unfortunately, the designers of Laguna Lake Park’s parking lot did not foresee a music festival of people arriving on park grounds, so space is limited. The mitigate, a bus shuttle will run from Campus Bottle near Cal Poly’s campus to the Laguna Lake Park bi-hourly from 2:00 p.m. to 5:30 p.m.
General admission, bus tickets and more information are available at shabangslo.com.
