Shambhala: Just Another Reason to Head for Canada This Year

Shambhala’s origins stem from a weekend getaway in 1998; 500 people gathered in celebration of art, food, music and themselves. This year, the fully-evolved festival is back to uphold those same virtues — bigger than ever.

Resurrected each summer and spanning from August 3rd through 8th, Shambhala now lures over 10,000 guests to enjoy a long weekend on Salmo River Ranch, tucked between mountains in the southern corner of British Columbia, Canada. The music lineup features dozens of electronic artists (AlunaGeorge, Autograf and Emancipator are all listed on the lineup) while preserving the underground culture and spirit brought to the ranch nearly two decades ago. The festival also offers classes, workshops and experiences woven between, upon, around and within six uniquely themed stages — not to mention the glittering Salmo River.
