March Playlist
March is here and it’s time to move on from our seasonal depression and hop into the season of new beginnings.
Here’s a few songs to add to your playlist that capture the essence of spring:

Leaving the past behind can be a difficult task, but sometimes growth can only happen when you let go of what you thought you needed most.
- Gotta Get Away – Vista Kicks
This track from Vista Kicks’ freshman album, “Booty Shakers Ball,” makes you want to get up and do just that. The groovy guitar riffs and intoxicating screams are enough to shake you out of your winter gloom.

Life can be difficult no matter how many people say that they’re there for you and sometimes it feels like nothing is ever going to get better. Awfultune takes a difficult topic and breaks it down into a message of care and understanding.

The lyrics – “What do you wanna be? / You never talk to me, you still want company / What do you want from me?” – encompass the experience of being stuck in a situation-ship. That is when one person wants something more, but the other refuses to put a label on it.

Every playlist needs a track that belongs in a teenage coming of age movie montage.
- Spring – Angel Olsen
Olsen’s haunting vocals leave your mind blurry, but still full of hope. Like every good love song, Olsen walks the line between love and longing.
- Golden Dandelions – Barns Courtney
From his album “Attractions of Youth,” Courtney looks at death from a depressingly beautiful perspective while creating an aura of excitement and awakening.
- It’s Not The Same Anymore – Rex Orange County
Growing up and losing the light you once had in your eyes is terrifying and confusing. However, coming to terms with these feelings can be incredibly freeing.
- Ides of March – Silverstein
Trying to be the person you once were before losing yourself in someone else can seem almost impossible. Silverstein perfectly captures this unfortunate situation.
- Lose the Feeling – Sundara Karma
Closing off with a track that feels like a warm spring day at sunset, you can’t help but feel a wave of calmness fall as you get lost in the psychedelic guitar riffs and intoxicating vocals.
