Gorillaz, the British virtual band that defies genre with every new track, has dropped a new single called “Humility.”

The track is a preview for their upcoming album, The Now Now, scheduled to release at the end of this month.

With every new album, the Gorillaz lore grows deeper. As of the release of “Humility,” while 2-D and the rest of the gang are enjoying their time on the beach, Murdoc is in prison. Here’s where it gets interesting: Murdoc’s replacement on the bass is none other than the leader of the Gangreen Gang from the Powerpuff Girls, Ace.

There’s more to love with “Humility” than the complex and hilarious universe crossover of the Powerpuff Girls and Gorillaz.

The song itself is bright and upbeat, not to mention catchy as hell. The verse, chorus, and bridge all feature swelling synthesizers, optimistic vocals, and a steady beat that keeps the whole thing moving. “Humility” also features George Benson, who provides the jazzy guitar riffs that give the song its carefree, summer feel (similar to his own famous track, Breezin’).
