Dusk Campout: The Underground Electronic Music Festival California Deserves
Have you heard of Dusk Campout?
Los Angeles’ underground’s industry leaders Heidi Lawden, Jeniliuv, and Masha collaborate to produce a three-day boutique camping festival in Southern California.
Dusk is an intimate, off-grid, queer festival for Southern California. Taking place for the first time on May 17th, 18th, and 19th 2019, this camp out is the opportunity for Los Angeles’ thriving dance music community to escape together into nature and enjoy a weekend of dancing amidst the trees. Featuring a line-up of DJs from the US, Europe and Japan, music is thoughtfully programmed in harmony with the rise and fall of the weekend’s full moon.
The three day BYOB camping festival inhabits a beautiful California location on Native American land, located between Los Angeles and San Diego. Dusk Campout will also play host to Southern California’s Far Away Party, Bouquet Records, Dublab, The Warehouse Preservation Society, Making Shapes, and PB Vinyl to list a few.
Dusk Campout’s inaugural weekender features a sonically diverse lineup that showcases top talent from top to bottom. It includes legends like DJ Harvey, DJ Nobu, Heidi Lawden, and Massimiliano Pagliara. Although California has seen a resurgence in its underground music scene through club nights and warehouse parties, it has lacked an adequate campout weekender that features a genre-spanning program. Dusk Campout broke this trend by booking a lineup that showcases an array of genres. From disco, italo, and techno, to balearic, electro, and house (club, acid, and minimal) — it’s all under one bill.
