Boy Harsher – Fate/Face the Fire
If you like your 80s synth pop with foreboding, world-ending type beat, then these two new Boy Harsher tracks are for you!
The electronic duo hailing from Northampton, Massachusetts brought some bangers with their new singles, “Fate” and “Face the Fire.”
Both of these tracks sound like they belong in that one club scene from John Wick. These singles just ooze neon signs, Michael Jackson leather, and those haircuts on the cover of Tears for Fears’ “Songs From The Big Chair.”
I have been bumping these songs all week, with “Face the Fire” being my recommendation to check out first. Boy Harsher captures the synth-pop 80s sound so well, it could fool even a die-hard fan of the genre.
The songs are definitely a little dark as I alluded to at the top of this article. There were times where listening to this music scared me a little bit — however, I have to admit, I do scare easily.
Take this as a precaution — the tracks are worth the listen, but don’t be surprised at the chills going down your spine.
I am a huge fan of what this group can do, and best believe I’m looking forward to their full album, Careful, dropping February 1st. In the meantime, I would definitely recommend listening to these singles while driving aimlessly late at night.
Check out the very cool (and at some points, a little uncomfortable) video for “Face the Fire” below!
