Rolling Loud is once again returning to the West Coast for its 2024 show at Hollywood Park in Los Angeles March 14-17. This year, Rolling Loud is celebrating its 10th birthday.
The decade special lineup is jam-packed with star-studded performers and beloved rappers of all types. Some notable names headlining this year’s festival include Ye, Ty Dolla $ign, Nicki Minaj, Post Malone and Future with Metro Boomin.
The festival will stretch across four days. Beginning on Thursday evening, March 14, and continuing through Sunday. Specific opening and closing times for each day of the festival can be found on the official website.
If you’re planning on attending Rolling Loud and don’t know how to prep, maximize seeing your favs and survive this four-day-long extravaganza, you’re in the right place.
Who’s going to be there
This year Rolling Loud has four main headliners for each day of the event. On Thursday night, the festival is starting off strong with the only scheduled artists being Ye and Ty Dolla $ign’s new hip-hop supergroup ¥$, performing on the main stage at 8 p.m. ¥$ was created with the release of the two artists’ joint album Vultures, which was released Feb. 10., leaving fans expecting to hear new tracks during their set.
Headlining the second night is Nicki Minaj, on the main stage at 9 p.m. The artist is currently on tour for her newest album Pink Friday 2, which was released at the end of last year. Also performing are artists YG & Tyga, PartyNextDoor, Sexyy Red, Rae Sremmurd and more.
On day three of the festival, Post Malone is headlining at 9:30 p.m. Also performing that day are artists $uicideboy$, Summer Walker, Big Sean, Larry June and Bones.
The final night will be headlined by artists and frequent collaborators Future and Metro Boomin, hitting the stage at 8:30 p.m.
Additionally performing to close off the festival are fellow artists, Don Toliver, Bryson Tiller, Ski Mask the Slump God, Chief Keef, NLE Choppa and 03Greedo.
In addition to the dozens of artists on the line-up, Rolling Loud will also feature one special guest artist Friday through Sunday.
Rolling Loud posted on Instagram on March 12 that Friday night’s special guest was singer Junior H, who is no longer performing due to “breaches of contract, including the festival’s radius terms”. Sunday’s guest Nathaniel Cano will also not be performing due to being unable to receive the correct work permit in time.
All three of these artists primarily perform Mexican Regional music as a part of the ‘Corridos Tumbados’ movement, which celebrates a combination of classic Mexican sounds along with strong hip-hop and rap influence. Saturday’s special guest Regional Mexican band Fuerza Regida will still be performing as planned.
What to bring (and what not to bring)
When arriving at the security gates at the entrance of the festival there will be strict parameters on what can and cannot be brought into the fairgrounds. The No. 1 rule that’s going to be crucial to keep in mind when packing for the festival is the bag restrictions. Per the festival’s bag policy, you are allowed one clear bag within the 12” x 6” x 12” dimensions.
Additionally, clear hydration packs and other accessories such as binoculars and eye drops can be brought. Specifics on types of bags and materials allowed, as well as an itemized list of all allowed accessories can be found on its website.
The next item necessary to enjoy the festival is an official form of identification. Being a 16+ event with many 21+ areas within the festival itself, this is heavily monitored. Acceptable forms of ID include a US official Real ID passport, foreign official ID, or temporary DMV document (only valid when accompanied by a passport). All self identification parameters are detailed on the website’s ID guidelines section.
Where to go
Rolling Loud is a jam-packed weekend full of attractions that entertains over 100,000 attendees each year. With all the various attractions, artists and events within the festival, knowing when to go where can be overwhelming.
In order to alleviate the pressure on a long day ahead, planning where you want to be is key. The easiest way to plan an itinerary for your day is to review the lineup and map ahead of time. On the Rolling Loud website and the Rolling Loud app you can access the experience map to see exactly where everything is located within the venue.
The grounds are to include three main stages; the Loud Stage, Gopuff Stage and Culture King Stage. The Loud stage is the largest of the three, located in the back of the festival and set to host all the main headlining acts of each day.
Also within the festival will be lounges, bars, food, games and art. Some expected exhibits to see will include Graffiti Park, an open area where enjoyers can ‘leave their mark’ on designated objects with spray paint.
Additionally there will be pick up basketball games and skate demos, karaoke and beer pong.
Within VIP, access to exclusive lounges including Nicki Minaj’s ‘Gag City’ where enjoyers can experience access to free glam, tatts, and cuts. This area also includes front row viewing to Loud Stage performances and an exclusive merchandise showroom.
