With the sun settled high and a light breeze drifting about, families and friends gathered at the Sea Pines Golf Resort in Los Osos on Oct. 19.
The hum of music filtered through the chatter, with local band “Cuesta Ridge” inviting guests to let the rhythm move through them. People young and old danced barefoot, as children and their pets rolled down the hills of green, illustrating that Music on the Green was in full effect for another Saturday of live music.
Mandolinist Dan Keller said performing in Los Osos with such a supportive community is always a good time.
Music on the Green is a live concert event open to the public every Saturday for 26 consecutive weeks from April to October.
Located on an old putting green, this event began nearly 16 years ago and has been consistent over the past 10 years, with local support and interest driving the cause.
Avid Music on the Green attendee, Louise Finley, said she’s been going to the events for over three years and keeps coming back for the good music, company and overall vibes.
“It’s community; it’s wonderful,” Finley said.
Like Finley, the community in Los Osos has a deep love for Music on the Green, with swarms of people in attendance, constant chatter and smiles spread across the lawn.
“The biggest value I get out of it is the appreciation that people come and continuously say how much they enjoyed coming here,” Sea Pines Golf Resort Owner and Manager Gary Setting said.
The Resort will be hosting its last Music on the Green event for the summer on Oct. 26, with a Halloween dance party, costume contest and live music from local band, “Zongo All Stars.”
Although the Music on the Green season is coming to an end, the Sea Pines Golf Resort will still be offering live music occasionally in an indoor setting.
