Downtown SLO coffee shop brews up ever-changing menu

Located near downtown San Luis Obispo lives a coffee shop and study spot called Kaffein. To keep its customers interested, Kaffein is frequently changing up its menu.
Communications studies junior Ava Mirante spends her free hours between classes studying at Kaffein.
“I thought their options were really nice,” Mirante said, “I am definitely on my health and wellness kick, and I think they have a lot of options for that.”
Director of Operations Katie Taylor helped establish Kaffein when the business was just getting started, and now, she helps with the process of creating new drinks.
“I have seen a very diverse ordering, some people, some students like the classic coffee, no flavor, I just want it black with no milk, and some people would get the you know biggest size blended fancy drinks,” Taylor said. “I think we are able to hit a lot of different flavor profiles.”
Business administration sophomore Cassidy Kipp tries a new drink every time she goes to Kaffein.
“ I feel like I don’t have a go-to drink because they have a lot of options,” Kipp said. “Today, I got the white forest mocha latte, and it’s white mocha and cherry, and it’s actually really good.”
Being a hot spot for college students like Mirante and Kipp to study, Kaffein is constantly working on keeping its customers coming according to Taylor.
“We have gotten some great feedback, and it’s nice to have some niche options that maybe not everyone else is offering,” Taylor said. “We try to do our best to listen and grow, and not be afraid to grow and change.”For more information, visit their Instagram @kaffeincoffeecompany.
